When I was 65...
I REMEMBER when I came up on 65 what it meant to have Medicare. I and my wife of almost fifty years did not have a medical plan, so we were winging it. My wife had finally earned a disability and inhereted Medicare with that.
What a blessing it was for us. Finally, we could get the health care we needed without contemplating bankruptcy. As a result, I'm not very critical of Medicare, and I get a little miffed at how it is being abused now.
I have lined up a couple of companies to support Medicare because it is only an 80% plan. The supplements support the 20% Medicare doesn't cover. As this is written, you'll find two fine plans to choose from. There's more, of course, but I think these two represent two fine plans. They are based on the levels Medicare provides and most plans per pretty much the same dishing out the services under the Medicare letter mandates.
It's all kind of seamless as they say. Medicare determines how much will be paid the doctors and hospitals and most still agree to accept what they agree to pay. The Supplement contributes the 20% after Medicare determines how much that is.
With Plan D for prescriptions, the plan are complete. Some do more exagerated Medicare plans. So far, I haven't. These work together fine and I can help supply what you need.
